Membership in the Citizens' Committee is vital to improving conditions in nursing homes.
Without leverage or power, your concerns and complaints have less chance of being corrected. Membership is the means to that leverage and power.
As a member, you will have an entire organization behind you.
When you register a concern or complaint, you are no longer alone, but are supported by thousands of other people who have had similar experiences and feelings as you, and who have similar interests in improving nursing home care (and expect similar results).
The number of members gives weight to your concerns when you meet with owners, administrators, and staff members who are entrusted with the care of your loved ones.
It is only by uniting with people who feel as you do that the change you desire can be brought about.
Legislators usually want to know how many members of the community feel the same way about long-term care issues and what those issues are. As a resource to legislators, our membership becomes vital to improving nursing home care.
